Brave The Storm

Hi! Dana here today sharing a layout that was inspired by the Winter Mood Board fellow designer Charllie created.

I pulled several of my favorite elements from the Mood Board and created a festive embellishment cluster. I found many of these inexpensive adornments in the holiday decor section of a local store.

My favorite item on this page is this vintage image, which came in my Zeus and Zoe Kit, entitled "Two Sisters." They look like they could brave a storm together just fine.

I finished my layout with a snowflake trinket, vintage button and a small piece of pom pom trim for a fun pop of blue.

Thanks for stopping by today!

D.C. by Dana Tatar

Hi! Dana here today sharing a layout today. I moved just outside Washington D.C. about a year ago and have been slowly exploring our Nation's capital. I had a lot of fun pulling vintage papers and embellishments that brought to mind our Founding Fathers from my Zeus and Zoe Kit to pair with this photo of my daughters and their cousins that I took on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

This piece of paper is dated June 24, 1921! This is by far my favorite element on the page. This piece of paper is naturally aged and has a fantastic old paper smell.

I had a lot of fun playing with texture, adding layers of muslin, burlap and whipped spackle.

I tucked chipboard feathers, brass buttons and ribbon around these gorgeous Manor House Creations flowers. This embellishment cluster is reminiscent of cravats, vintage military uniforms, and quill pens. I added plenty of black ink splatters to finish the page.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please check out the Zeus and Zoe social media sites for more inspiration. If you'd like to pick up a one-of-a-kind Zeus and Zoe Kit for yourself, stop by the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop or email Marivic Clifton for a personal order.

New beginning by Tusia Lech

Hello :)

Today is my first day at Zeus&Zoe blog as a designer and I have to say how happy and thrilled I am! Marivic, who is the owner of Zeus&Zoe etsy store, creates amazing kits for shabby and vintage lovers! There are so many inspiring and unique elements in each kit!! When I unpacked mine, I couldn't resist to start creating immediately! Thank you Marivic for inviting me to the team!

My first layout as a Zeus&Zoe DT member is about new beginning. Literally and figuratively. I just have started my new, great adventure here but there are many new beginnings around us all year. Days, months, seasons, strawberry season, school, job, love, friendship - everything begins. And I wanted to honour all happy beginnings in my life.

Almost everything, you see below, come from Zeus&Zoe kit handpicked by Marivic. I have added some shabby touch to a canvas star and a few buttons, applying some gesso on it.

Take a look at this beautiful, handmade flower, which was a part of Zeus&Zoe Kit Collection!

The whole composition is around the circle, which I draw in the central part of 7 Dots Studio paper. I used pencil, Gelatos and Caran D'Ache Neocolor crayons, which you can buy at Zeus&Zoe store. These are absolutely wonderful crayons, soft and easy to be applied and totally water-soluble. But if you prefer not to use water, they are also wonderful - give great coverage, vivid colors and wonderful texture.

Most elements was put on a foam squares, so to add the dimension. Final touch was adding some splatters with black Indian Ink and some stamping.

All flowers, except crocheted one, come from Manor House Value Pack available at Zeus&Zoe store.

Thank you for visiting our blog today!

Vintage Holiday Card with Guest Designer Dana Tatar

Hi Zeus and Zoe fans! Former design team member Dana here today sharing a Christmas card that I created with the Zeus and Zoe Green with Envy Embellishment Kit. You can find similar kits HERE. I layered pieces of vintage newspaper and sheet music and a vintage postcard onto an embossed card base. I loved the image on the postcard and decided to play up the green and purple color palette for a non-traditional holiday card.

I topped my festive embellishment cluster with a stamped sentiment that I cut from a vintage book page. I just love the look of aged paper!

I finished my card with some decorative chipboard and a vintage inspired key.

Here is a peek of the gorgeous Green with Envy Kit! If you're looking for something specific, or have a favorite color that you like to work with, contact Marivic and she'll put together a kit personalized to your specific tastes and needs!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I wish you and yours all the best this holiday season!

Funky Glasses

I know most of you are going into the winter season...but as we are starting our summer, and a warm one at that...I decided to alter two wine glasses to use as decorations on my poolside table!

I used buttons and embellishments from the Zeus and Zoe etsy shop to decorate the glasses.

The top is covered with a Canvas Mini from the etsy shop. I first sprayed it with Lemon Meringue Dazzles and then used a Prima Stencil and sprayed with Burnt Orange. Some Rhinestones and flowers from my own stash complete the top.

To color the glasses I used Alcohol Inks from Ranger, I used Peach Bellini, Pesto and Sunset Orange. I then used a Stencil and colored Texture Paste to add some texture to the glasses.

All the buttons and this last Embellishment from Prima's Ruby Violet were embossed with Lindy's Stampgang embossing powders, Desert Moon Turquoise, Spring Leaf Chartreuse and Terra Cotta Plum. The fish and butterfly embellishments are also from the etsy shop.

This my friends is it from me, Patricia Basson...I'm of to have a cocktail at the poolside! Keep well until my next post next week...!

Vintage Hat Box by Jen Waugh

Hi everyone and welcome to my first post for November.

We have free play this month so this means we get to make what we want using our Zeus and Zoe products. Marivic sent me a gorgeous hat box with my DT pack. I decided for my first project to alter it a bit. Being a lover of all things vintage, the images and embellishments from my pack were perfect.

I used the beautiful vintage, Love post card from my pack to embellish the side, I added some pearl and paper flowers to make it stand out. The little button is from my own stash and is Prima. I made some ribbon flowers, my first attempt and I was pleased with how they turned out.

The pretty fabric flowers were cream when they arrived in my pack. I wanted to make them blend into the image better, a quick spray with some mist anfd they turned out a pale pink. I added a hat pin that I made myself and a peacock feather.

I cut up my Dusty Attic and added it to the edges. They were sprayed with some mist first and I used gold Run n Buff to add some interest to small areas.

The doily and vintage brooch were also included in my DT pack. Aren't they beautiful?

I love this vintage image that was included in my pack.

Thanks for joining me, I hope that you liked my vintage hat box.   Check out the Zeus and Zoe Etsy shop to have a look through all Marivic's products. Would love to see what you create with them :-)

Until next time, Jen xxx

Birthday Greetings Card

Hello dear Zeus and Zoe friends!

Today I have created a card using an amazing find from the Zeus and Zoe Etsy store that I received in my DT package...This vintage postcard...it is dated Sept 25 1909! How absolutely amazing is that? Unfortunately I could not make out the name of the sender, but the message reads " Better Late than never, your twin Sister" and it was stamped at the Stockbridge Post office...

I used papers send to me by Marivic in my package as well as a crochet Doily that I cut in half and placed on both sides of the postcard.

The Button and the Butterfly's are also from my package and I once again used pieces of the cut up Doily from a previous project.

I used Lindy's Stampgang mists on my card and also used it to colour the image of the Lady on the card. Just love the vintage feel of the velvet page mark from Making Memories also available from the Zeus And Zoe store.

I did some stencilling with texture paste and misting with Lindy's Sprays.

I tried to combine vintage with the popular Mixed Media style of today...

Thank you so much for your visit...Please make a point of visiting Marivic's store and have her make up a specially designed package for you...

Keep well and keep crafting

Young at Heart Layout by Jen Waugh

Hi everyone, Jen here again with my second project for October. I realised that I hadn't done a layout during my term so decided that with Halloween just around the corner, I would do bit of a "dark" project. The colours are still within the Zeus and Zoe October "Steamchic" theme for this month.

I used the Polish paper manufacturer UHK Designs on my layout and the collection is My Dear Watson.

I added some lace and vintage buttons from my DT pack, I loved how the buttons complimented my colour scheme.

I loved this industrial chic metal charm from my pack and knew it would look great on my layout. The flower is from Manor House Creations and was included in my pack.

To get the textured effect, I used a Kaiser Craft mask with some texture paste. I sprayed with Tattered Angels mist in Sand Beige. Once that was dry I accentuated some of the masking with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye. I also used this to ink my distressed edges.

I heat embossed my 2 Crafty Chipboard with black embossing powder to get the metallic effect. The title sticker is from Prima.

Thanks for joining me in my last post for October. Have a safe and enjoyable Halloween weekend. See you all next month.

P.S The young girl in the photo is in fact me taken during my "goth" phase in the late 80's ;-)

Bookmarks

Hello Blog Friends...

Hope you are all doing fine today? I created some Bookmarks with some of the trinkets from my Design Team stash from the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Store...

{Double click to zoom in}

Pardon the two photos...I could not decide which one was best...!

This one was made with a piece of canvas ribbon, a little Lace and a pretty bow.

This is what the Button looks like after it was covered with dimensional glaze...

A punched Butterfly and a Tassel adorn this Bookmark...

A felt flourish and Tassel for this Sunny Bookmark...

A lace flower, a few friends and a metal embellishment on this canvas ribbon Bookmark...

A pretty bow, heart shaped embellishment and some ribbon  makes this a pretty Bookmark...On this Button I added some micro beads in the Dimensional Glaze.

~~~
These are the trinkets and Buttons I used from my DT package.
A layer of Gesso.
Various inks and Mists. And then I forgot to take a photo of them after I covered them with the Dimensional Glaze...
Please visit the Zeus and Zoe Blog  for more inspiration from my fellow DT members and also visit Marivic Clifton's Etsy Shop for these and many more vintage inspired items...
