~A Vintage Noel~

The 'Vintage/Rustic look' seems to be the 'in-thing' this year. I'd say I was just following the trend, but the truth is the whole look/feel is a choice I made for the new decor in my own living room. When it came to choosing a table set to go with my new sofa and chair, I went with what I liked, what felt warm and natural, what made me feel happy.

For my project this month I knew I wanted to make a Christmas banner, and it was easy once I decided to use the canvas banner pieces that came in my Zeus and Zoe   Design Team Package as a base.

I coffee-dyed some curtaining fabric and doilies, then covered the banners with the curtaining lace fabric to give the piece added texture and dimension. I cut a large doily in wedges to use as the last layer of the fringed edge of the banner topped with four different vintage laces, including a lovely traditional tatted trim edged in a nice festive green color.

A smaller doily added to the centers of the banner pieces then topped with red glittered chipboard letters spelling "Noel" that I altered with some Donna Salazar Pralines and Cream fine glitter and some Lindy's Stamp Gang Steampunk Sepia Starburst Spray to give it a darker, more vintage look.

I alternated little white felt snowflakes and green holly leaves on the tops and bottoms of the banner for an added embellishment as well as tiny ribbon carnation flowers added to each top corner that I sprayed with some Lindy's Café au Lait Flat Fabio Spray and dabbed with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink to get them close to the Fig Brown color of the seam binding used to string the banner pieces together.

I absolutely LOVE the striking effect this beautiful banner has against the dark red color of my living room walls, it was the perfect touch to my decor and will become a lovely vintage piece that can be cherished for generations to come.

I hope you enjoy my project and I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with health and happiness!

I slid them inside each other then I taped  it shut by moistening the sticky part of envelope.

Book of 2015 by Tusia Lech

Hello :)

Here is Tusia Lech with a small book, I created using Zeus & Zoe kit.

I was inspired by mood board created by DT member - Charlie: I have used burlap, beautiful flower and some glitter.

At first I cut 2 rectangles for covers - I used plain, thick chipboard. I embellished both covers with burlap and flowers.

On the front cover you can see also gorgeous doily in a shape of heart and wonderful, reach purple crystal framed with metal. All these items come from one of Zeus & Zoe gorgeous kit.

Back cover:

My book is an accordion book. I have cut 12 inches long paper strip and folded it forming an accordion. Than I glued down small envelopes. I put tags and some ephemera into envelopes - I will write on them all the most important to me things in next year.

The edges of the inside covers are covered with small pieces of paper from old book (glued down with Gel Medium) and than inked with Archival Ink.

Thank you for visiting our blog today - I hope I inspired you a little bit :)

A night before Christmas

Hello!
Today I have a layout inspired by our beautiful winter moodboard. It's hard not to get in a creative mood when seeing it!

I used a Prima paper as a base and a bunch of the vintage items from the Zeus and Zoe kit. Old newspaper, cotton lace, buttons and metal decorations. The main decorative element are the gorgeous burlap Prima flowers.
I have also added some stencil pattern with a modelling paste, gesso and some accents of gold paint (media from my personal stash)

Here is the inspiring moodboard created by Charlie:

Thanks for stopping by,  I hope you will come around and play with out moodboard this month!

Brave The Storm

Hi! Dana here today sharing a layout that was inspired by the Winter Mood Board fellow designer Charllie created.

I pulled several of my favorite elements from the Mood Board and created a festive embellishment cluster. I found many of these inexpensive adornments in the holiday decor section of a local store.

My favorite item on this page is this vintage image, which came in my Zeus and Zoe Kit, entitled "Two Sisters." They look like they could brave a storm together just fine.

I finished my layout with a snowflake trinket, vintage button and a small piece of pom pom trim for a fun pop of blue.

Thanks for stopping by today!

New Year's inspiration

Hello friends! With you today Elena Smoktunova. Soon New Year's holidays also need to be given gifts! I have for you some ideas as it is possible to decorate a gift envelope or a casket!

I made this envelope completely itself. It turned out rather festive and New Year's!

It will serve as an excellent gift as it is possible to place certificates in the field of it, theater tickets or banknotes!

Or here such casket in the form of the New Year's fir-tree can serve for jewelry.

Friends, I hope to you it will be pleasant! I wish you inspiration and festive mood!
