Vintage Holiday Card with Guest Designer Dana Tatar

Hi Zeus and Zoe fans! Former design team member Dana here today sharing a Christmas card that I created with the Zeus and Zoe Green with Envy Embellishment Kit. You can find similar kits HERE. I layered pieces of vintage newspaper and sheet music and a vintage postcard onto an embossed card base. I loved the image on the postcard and decided to play up the green and purple color palette for a non-traditional holiday card.

I topped my festive embellishment cluster with a stamped sentiment that I cut from a vintage book page. I just love the look of aged paper!

I finished my card with some decorative chipboard and a vintage inspired key.

Here is a peek of the gorgeous Green with Envy Kit! If you're looking for something specific, or have a favorite color that you like to work with, contact Marivic and she'll put together a kit personalized to your specific tastes and needs!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I wish you and yours all the best this holiday season!

Beautiful ~Back frame canvas

Hi this is CHARLIE  and this is my project for this christmas at zeus and zoe ,I was in the middle of November when I started to create  this christmas themed glittered canvas , I was struck by lightning when I did  this , it's like Magic on Paints , everything is special and glittery !! I was wondering how I did this !! Nah but sorry guys didn't Do any tutorial for this one ..I was so busy and tired to do a tute but its seems it turns this project amazing !! The good thing about this  is that it's not made by a true canvas this one is Chipboard .. (you see when you buy a frame you'll have a free chipboard or plastic to the back to lock your photos ,  and then I spotted the chipboard will work big on paper craft and nice to work with Zeus and Zoe Kits ..
This time I make sure everything is glittery ,so I added lots of glitter and popping colors)!!!

So The layers are all made using scrap magazine papers and book pages and then I added gesso .. I used a lot of fabric from the kit as well as the gorgeous flower packs ..Paint's are from conda and Dixon ,for the mist I just used Lindy's ... So Lovely it takes me 2 hrs to work on this piece I hope you guys Like it !!

Pure Heart~ Mixed Media Collage

Hello my Crafty Friends!

Marivic has been so gracious enough to have me stay on an extra two months so I will be with you all until January. (doing the happy dance).

As you all know I have been on a new creative journey of finding my inner "creative" self.  And I wanted to share with you a mixed media collage I created the first day of my journey ( about a month ago).  I felt like I had a lot of clutter in my life and I needed to get clear so creating this piece was so therapeutic for me and I found my freedom.  I wanted my collage to depict exactly how I felt at the time of creation.  So looking left to right you can see that all of the clutter becomes clean and pure.  Then I included one of my favorite scriptures. "Create in me a pure heart".  I hope you all love this as much as I do!

thank you for sharing your Friday with me :)

Hello there! My name is Lee.  I really am a stay at home mom that tries to stay in my craft room as much as I can, except when I am forced to emerge for shopping, cooking or cleaning. I am married to an army pilot and have traveled to many places with him and our two children. I have been scrapbooking for 13 years, but have taken many long breaks from my beloved hobby due to deployments and moving around the country.

Hello there! My name is Lizzy Hill & I’m an Aussie who lives just above Sydney on the Central Coast. I have 2 grown up sons & 1 grandbaby, plus a pile of ‘steps’….a great assortment of scrappy subjects! I’ve been scrapping about 5 years…& 2014 is going to be a busy year for me – which is just fine! I’m on a few teams, including Once Upon A…Sketch, Scrap365 Magazine, LESSology & Purple Pumpkin.
As you can see from that lot, I’m a bit of an eclectic scrapper – I THINK my style is rather bold…I LOVE challenges & challenging myself & I’ll have a go at anything scrappy wise – on or off the page. Even PL [Project Life] isn’t ‘safe’ from me!
Lately, I’ve been drawn to badges, mists & masking, & using Liquid Pearls. I usually journal on my pages - mostly by hand. I have an absolute all-encompassing loooove for this Scrappy World we inhabit, & adore popping by & leaving comments. I have a strong belief in supporting & sharing scrappy ideas…so I hope you gain something from checking out my projects here on Zeus & Zoe….cos Marivic has THE most gorgeous Etsy Shop in the world!!!!!

Hi! I’m Kristie, and I am a scrapaholic!  I have loved being creative since I was a young girl. I have always loved to alter things and when I was a child I spent a lot of time looking for ways to make new things out of old things. I am married to David, the love of my life, and we have four children. Chris who is 29, Megan who is 16, and the twins, Hunter and Jared who are 13. We also share our home with two fur babies. I love ink and paint and distressing things, so you will always see a little of each of those in my projects. I love all things vintage, the shabbier the better, but what girl can live without a little sparkle? Not me! I love to add a little glitter too!  I am excited to be asked to design for Zues and Zoe, and I hope that I can inspire you to create beautiful projects too!

Welcome ladies and thank you for joining our design team. You will see their starting January!

And of course we still have our Charlie as our educator and Madame Ro!!

Thanks for stopping by and I really hope to see you soon...

"Inspire"~ Mixed Media Journal Page

Hello friends!

I have another art journal page to share with you. Lately I have been obsessed with hearts. I've noticed my last few projects have had some form of hearts somewhere on it.  I've been doing a lot of abstract type of art as well. When I created this page I was feeling very inspired and very loved. I used a chipboard word that displays "inspired" and I also used a Tim Hotlz medal trinket that says "know in your heart that you are loved".  and again loving the vibrancy in the colors.

Hope you are inspired by my project.

Timeless - Layout by Ayeeda

Hi, it's Aida  here with my last project for Zeus and Zoe. It's been a huge pleasure to work with Marivic's gorgeous products. Over the past four months I've tried to show you how you can use these products in different ways, and how vintage style can mix well with mixed media.

For my last post I have decided to create a layout with beautiful papers and embellishemnts from Zeus and Zoe. I made a lot texture with flowers, laces and other embellies, I put a gesso over it and added some inks, and the colors match perfectly now:)

Here is my LO
Timeless

Thank You again for trusting me, for giving me a great opportunity Marivic. I just love your products and I wish you and Zeus and Zoe all the best:*

Shabby Chic Heart - Jen Waugh

Hi everyone, Jen here with my second November project. Sadly, this is my last Design Team project for Zeus and Zoe. I have had such a fantastic time during my time on this Team. Marivic's products are beautiful and it has been great to get to know the other ladies on the team.  It really has been such a pleasure to be here.

My last project created was a shabby chic heart wall hanging.

I used some vintage lace to cover a wire heart. The vintage handkerchief was from my DT pack and the whole wall hanging was created around it. I loved the colour and embroidery on it and the rest just came together.

I added one of the beautiful vintage postcards from my pack to the cluster. It really complemented the heart. I also used some beads and diamante from my pack to create a handmade hat pin. I also made the ribbon flower and the ribbon cluster with bits and pieces from my pack. The lace doily was also included in my pack, I just cut it from a larger piece.

My friend fell in love with the heart so it now has pride of place in her house.

All items are available in the Etsy shop. Please take a moment to drop in and find something to create for yourself. The products are so versatile and beautiful. Hopefully I have shown during my term that they are not just for scrapbooking.

It has  been an absolute pleasure to share some of my altered projects here on Zeus and Zoe.  I want to take this opportunity to thank Marivic for having me on her team. For giving this "unknown" name the chance to create with her beautiful products.

~~ Smiles ~~ a LO by Patrica Basson

Hello Zeus and Zoe friends...

Today's post is bitter sweet for me as it will be my last one as a member of Zeus and Zoe...I would love to thank Marivic and the ZZ team for having me on-board these past few months! I have had to think out of my comfort box a few times to showcase items from my Design Team package resulting in some interesting off the page items! It was such a joy to work with some amazing vintage products. I will be keeping a close watch on what the remaining and new team will be creating and wish them one and all the very best for the future!!!

This page of my son Francois, was made with papers that came in my kit...I used a sheet as background, after slapping some medium onto it and also used the amazing book pages that I received...They, together with the vintage post cards must have been the highlight of my package for me...I used them as the strips, matting and also cut the Pediments with them.

The words 'Smiles and Happiness' as well as the Die-cut paper Rosettes, come from one of the patterned papers from my kit as do the brown flower, 'believe' and the jewel embellishment.

What I loved most about the book pages was that they were naturally aged and distressed! Apart from the little bit of black stamping, I did not add any colour to it, it's all 'natural'!

To add some extra texture to the page, I first used a stencil and Picket Fence Distress Stain to create the first layer of paints...after drying it I used another stencil and texture paste. Leaving the stencil in place, I sprayed over the texture paste with Lindy's Stampgang Starburst spray, Screaming Banshee Black which has a beautiful Blue undertone...I used the residue on the stencil on various areas of the background as well! I did some stamping with Black Soot Distress Paint...I prefers using Distress Paint for it gives a good coverage and after drying, does not smear should you use more wet medium on the page.

This then is it for me...I hope that in a small way I may have encouraged you to visit the Zeus and Zoe Etsy shop and have Marivic custom design a package for you...

Patricia Basson saying Goodbey with these words...

Don't be dismayed at goodbyes.
A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.
And meeting again, after moments or lifetime,
is certain for those who are friends.

"Passion"~ Mixed Media Journal Page

Hello Craft Divas!

Madame Ro here and I am super excited to share with you my latest Zeus & Zoe DT project.  Lately I've been doing some crafty "soul searching" and getting more in touch with my inner "Madame Ro".  I have been wanting to reach deep down with in myself and pour my soul into my each project I create. I decided to challenge myself to go deeper. So I am taking some fine art mixed media courses and learning different techniques and mediums.  I recently got an art journal and decided to start art journaling to try out a few of the techniques I've learned. I was intimidated by it at first but I jumped in head first and I loved the whole process. It was so freeing!  So without further adieu here is my first art journal page.

I loved how this page turned out so much that I got it framed.

It spells out the word "Passion" I made the A in passion out of spikes. The quote says "Great passion can elevate the soul to great things." I had so much fun playing around with all the vibrant colors.

I am loving playing around with abstract art. I wanted to add a little grunginess to it to, hence the spikes, the rips and safety pins.

Thank you so much for spending a moment with me.

A mixed media canvas by Yvonne Yam

Hello there! It's Yvonne with my last project for Zeus and Zoe. Today I want to share how I created this mixed media canvas using the beautiful embellishments from the Zeus and Zoe store.

I started with a vintage doiley from the Zeus and Zoe store which I adhered to a 6x6 canvas with gel medium.

Then I misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang mists from the Zeus and Zoe store.

Until I got a colour combination I was pleased with....

After that I clustered some found stash along with gorgeous charms from the Zeus and Zoe store and adhered to the canvas using generous amounts of gel medium.

After that, I added gold paints and mediums and embellished with pink beads and blooms. :)

Hope you will try your own mixed media canvas.
