Timeless - Layout by Ayeeda

Hi, it's Aida  here with my last project for Zeus and Zoe. It's been a huge pleasure to work with Marivic's gorgeous products. Over the past four months I've tried to show you how you can use these products in different ways, and how vintage style can mix well with mixed media.

For my last post I have decided to create a layout with beautiful papers and embellishemnts from Zeus and Zoe. I made a lot texture with flowers, laces and other embellies, I put a gesso over it and added some inks, and the colors match perfectly now:)

Here is my LO

Shabby Chic Heart - Jen Waugh

Hi everyone, Jen here with my second November project. Sadly, this is my last Design Team project for Zeus and Zoe. I have had such a fantastic time during my time on this Team. Marivic's products are beautiful and it has been great to get to know the other ladies on the team.  It really has been such a pleasure to be here.

My last project created was a shabby chic heart wall hanging.

I used some vintage lace to cover a wire heart. The vintage handkerchief was from my DT pack and the whole wall hanging was created around it. I loved the colour and embroidery on it and the rest just came together.

I added one of the beautiful vintage postcards from my pack to the cluster. It really complemented the heart. I also used some beads and diamante from my pack to create a handmade hat pin. I also made the ribbon flower and the ribbon cluster with bits and pieces from my pack. The lace doily was also included in my pack, I just cut it from a larger piece.

My friend fell in love with the heart so it now has pride of place in her house.

All items are available in the Etsy shop. Please take a moment to drop in and find something to create for yourself. The products are so versatile and beautiful. Hopefully I have shown during my term that they are not just for scrapbooking.

It has  been an absolute pleasure to share some of my altered projects here on Zeus and Zoe.  I want to take this opportunity to thank Marivic for having me on her team. For giving this "unknown" name the chance to create with her beautiful products.

~~ Smiles ~~ a LO by Patrica Basson

Hello Zeus and Zoe friends...

Today's post is bitter sweet for me as it will be my last one as a member of Zeus and Zoe...I would love to thank Marivic and the ZZ team for having me on-board these past few months! I have had to think out of my comfort box a few times to showcase items from my Design Team package resulting in some interesting off the page items! It was such a joy to work with some amazing vintage products. I will be keeping a close watch on what the remaining and new team will be creating and wish them one and all the very best for the future!!!

This page of my son Francois, was made with papers that came in my kit...I used a sheet as background, after slapping some medium onto it and also used the amazing book pages that I received...They, together with the vintage post cards must have been the highlight of my package for me...I used them as the strips, matting and also cut the Pediments with them.

The words 'Smiles and Happiness' as well as the Die-cut paper Rosettes, come from one of the patterned papers from my kit as do the brown flower, 'believe' and the jewel embellishment.

What I loved most about the book pages was that they were naturally aged and distressed! Apart from the little bit of black stamping, I did not add any colour to it, it's all 'natural'!

To add some extra texture to the page, I first used a stencil and Picket Fence Distress Stain to create the first layer of paints...after drying it I used another stencil and texture paste. Leaving the stencil in place, I sprayed over the texture paste with Lindy's Stampgang Starburst spray, Screaming Banshee Black which has a beautiful Blue undertone...I used the residue on the stencil on various areas of the background as well! I did some stamping with Black Soot Distress Paint...I prefers using Distress Paint for it gives a good coverage and after drying, does not smear should you use more wet medium on the page.

This then is it for me...I hope that in a small way I may have encouraged you to visit the Zeus and Zoe Etsy shop and have Marivic custom design a package for you...

Patricia Basson saying Goodbey with these words...

Don't be dismayed at goodbyes.
A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.
And meeting again, after moments or lifetime,
is certain for those who are friends.

"Passion"~ Mixed Media Journal Page

Hello Craft Divas!

Madame Ro here and I am super excited to share with you my latest Zeus & Zoe DT project.  Lately I've been doing some crafty "soul searching" and getting more in touch with my inner "Madame Ro".  I have been wanting to reach deep down with in myself and pour my soul into my each project I create. I decided to challenge myself to go deeper. So I am taking some fine art mixed media courses and learning different techniques and mediums.  I recently got an art journal and decided to start art journaling to try out a few of the techniques I've learned. I was intimidated by it at first but I jumped in head first and I loved the whole process. It was so freeing!  So without further adieu here is my first art journal page.

I loved how this page turned out so much that I got it framed.

It spells out the word "Passion" I made the A in passion out of spikes. The quote says "Great passion can elevate the soul to great things." I had so much fun playing around with all the vibrant colors.

I am loving playing around with abstract art. I wanted to add a little grunginess to it to, hence the spikes, the rips and safety pins.

Thank you so much for spending a moment with me.

Muah!

A mixed media canvas by Yvonne Yam

Hello there! It's Yvonne with my last project for Zeus and Zoe. Today I want to share how I created this mixed media canvas using the beautiful embellishments from the Zeus and Zoe store.

I started with a vintage doiley from the Zeus and Zoe store which I adhered to a 6x6 canvas with gel medium.

Then I misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang mists from the Zeus and Zoe store.

Until I got a colour combination I was pleased with....

After that I clustered some found stash along with gorgeous charms from the Zeus and Zoe store and adhered to the canvas using generous amounts of gel medium.

After that, I added gold paints and mediums and embellished with pink beads and blooms. :)

Hope you will try your own mixed media canvas.

Guest designer Valia Katzaki's beautiful canvases...

Hello! This is Valia Katzaki to show you some canvases I created using Zeus and Zoe’s yummy products.

At first here is a canvas about my sweet baby boy. I primed the canvas with gesso, and then painted it with Ingvild Bolme’s chalk inks, which I love. I painted random areas, then misted the canvas with water and I blended the colors with a sponge. This also creates bubbles that add to the texture when dry.

After that, I used a stencil and modeling paste to create the top left design.

I used the gorgeous Manor House creations flowers to surround my photo of my boy. I added some stamping and chipboard elements and my canvas was done!

The next two canvases are 6*6 and are meant to decorate my daughter’s bedroom. For the first one, I applied a thick coat of crackle paste and let dry overnight.

After that I misted with TA mists and painted in random areas with Ingvild Bolme’s chalk inks.

I placed my flowers on top left and used Marivic’s luscious buttons to fill my cluster. I also used a vintage flower card but in a non-traditional way. I fussy cut the lilac flowers and used them in my cluster.

At last, I painted my daughter’s initial with thick acrylic gold paint.

The second canvas was first covered with gesso and then painted with distress inks for a subtle effect. After that I placed a doily mask on my canvas and painted it roughly with gold acrylic paint. I didn’t mean for an exact impression in order to add to the shabby look.

I altered my flowers using gold acrylic paint to match the Zeus and Zoe gold buttons.

I arranged my flowers and again I used the gorgeous gold buttons to highlight my cluster.

I hope you liked my canvases! Thank you so much Marivic for having me as a Guest DT!

Funky Glasses

I know most of you are going into the winter season...but as we are starting our summer, and a warm one at that...I decided to alter two wine glasses to use as decorations on my poolside table!

I used buttons and embellishments from the Zeus and Zoe etsy shop to decorate the glasses.

The top is covered with a Canvas Mini from the etsy shop. I first sprayed it with Lemon Meringue Dazzles and then used a Prima Stencil and sprayed with Burnt Orange. Some Rhinestones and flowers from my own stash complete the top.

To color the glasses I used Alcohol Inks from Ranger, I used Peach Bellini, Pesto and Sunset Orange. I then used a Stencil and colored Texture Paste to add some texture to the glasses.

All the buttons and this last Embellishment from Prima's Ruby Violet were embossed with Lindy's Stampgang embossing powders, Desert Moon Turquoise, Spring Leaf Chartreuse and Terra Cotta Plum. The fish and butterfly embellishments are also from the etsy shop.

This my friends is it from me, Patricia Basson...I'm of to have a cocktail at the poolside! Keep well until my next post next week...!
