Ain't Life Grand

Hello everyone!  I have put together a vintage-y card for Zeus and Zoe.  I used my sewing machine, and kept adding layers.  Don't ever tell my mother that I enjoyed using my sewing machine.  Well, I do enjoy using it on paper.*

Enough about me.  Here is the card.  It's a bit bulky and will probably be delivered by hand.  The vintage picture, bits of printed paper, green PP, paper bird, paper flowers, and the decorative title plate are all from Zeus and Zoe.

For those of you that have just received more snow, I apologize for taking an outdoor photograph.  I love these purple flowers, even if they belong to the neighbor.

The inside:

Thanks for having a peek at my project!

*If I have to use my sewing machine on fabric, it's for hemming curtains (yawn.  Booorrring!).

MY KIX

Hello Crafters, Monica here!
I hope you are doing fabulous!

Today I threw together a layout showing my son so very happy with his shoes that his Aunt Missy sent him from Texas. He's always loved green but man o man did he choose some green!!! I had fun choosing an assortment of goodies from my ZZ kit. Definitely check out the Etsy shop and see what catches your eye.

A few closeups:

My kit contained some stamps from Pink by Design and some ScrapFX chipboard.
Head on over to the Zeus and Zoe Etsy and check out the wonderful supplies you can find there.
Happy Scrappn!

Our Special Boy...

...this is my son's son...a very special boy...taken on his Mum & Dad's wedding day...a very special day...which deserved a very special page, I thought! Soooo....I made it for the special occasion of SCRAP AFRICA's March mid month challenge...since Zeus & Zoe are sponsoring it!
The criteria? Stitching & Stars:
Everything on this page comes from my Zeus & Zoe DT package, apart from Heidi Swapp 'mistable' stars, the blue ribbon & some distress ink I've used around the edges:) I've stitched the papers onto the bg paper...
...& stitched this metal element to the page!
Layered a SHINE-A-LICIOUS button over this star.....that's Lindy's Stamp Gang ink in 'Gossamer Gold'...
The bg paper had a diagonal design on it, so I used this by stitching the trims in the same direction!
The Lindy's Stamp Gang ink 'splotches' were created using an eye dropper, then blowing madly on them as I moved the page around!!! It would make a WICKED video. But don't hold your breath!
Anways...hope you get a chance to join in at SCRAP AFRICA, & this inspires you to get scrappy!
Cheers ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Wedding Album Cover

I survived the international move to Germany. We now have a house. Our belongings are still at sea, which means my scrap goodies are somewhere on the Atlantic Ocean. I admit that my carry-on luggage contained my laptop and scrap supplies.

Only having a carry-on's amount of supplies makes me feel like I have the bare minimum with me.  I am working with what I brought and a kit to which  I subscribe, which was the first piece of mail that I have received at my new address.  I don't have any punches, or my die cutter, or my Distrezz-It-All. I'm roughing it!

I have managed to make something while enduring my spartan scrap conditions.

I was inspired by this cameo that I received in my goody box from Zeus and Zoe. I added the beads  (using the mending kit from my hotel room) to the bottom of the lace.  The bride is also from Zeus and Zoe; she came from a vintage book on style.

This album, obviously not yet complete, will be a wedding present for a special person in my life.  So, please, don't tell her!

Edith?

Does anyone watch Downton Abbey?  Does this vintage bride remind anyone else of Edith, or is it just me?

A Timely Reminder...

...not that this lady LOOKS like she's got anything to do with time! Except she is old - Edwardian, I'd guess...& she was on some paper I got from the etsy shop....& I fell in love with her. So I've made a simple canvas to hang on my wall!
Here she is in original form:
I've fussy cut her out & chose some 'vintage' looking bg paper...when I was a kid I ADORED paper dolls, & I guess I 'dressed' my lady up a little like that for this project. Here's the finished result:
Oooh! I had fun - added some pretty flowers to her hat:
Gave here a glitzy diamante necklace with a fairy & a key trinket attached:
And of course, some LOVELY blooms - just touched at the edges with some paint. Because I had to trim her down, I 'lost' the edge of her hat & shoulders...so, I added stamping & some masking around those edges so they sort of 'faded' away & it didn't look too disjointed:

And of course, I also painted, stamped, then added a little gold to the edges as well.
And best of all. The quote. Now the 'time' thing might make sense!! LOOOVE Kahlil Gibran - have since I was a teenager:)
Hope you enjoyed looking at this one - check out the ZEUS & ZOE store for the sorts of goodies - papers, charms, flowers & trims - that you can see I've used here:):)
And happy scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥
