Charllie's Steampunk BALL

Hi guys ! Charllie here Thank you for stopping by and I'm gonna share today a  crazy project I created for Christmas it is  a Ball that had a little bit touch of feminine and masculine . It is a big project mostly I will hang this on my wall. the project was really hard tp make since I tried to make the whole thing grunge but ended up slightly steam-punk (but I loved it :) . but nevermind everything is art and if your happy and I'm happy

Last time I created a layout and an album , So I was thinking of a new altered project so I came up with this steam-punk Christmas
ball which is big !! SO I spotted to put some birds and lots' of male accents and with girl tones

I used a lot of my handmade mini roses and a lot of Zeus and zoe products such as papers , paint, prima roses, metal gears , metal embellishments , pins , and such !! So it was awesome to have this piece I just started to paint it with Tim holtz crackle paint but It' didn't work to the styroball so I just made it clear black !!  More often I will hang this piece to my place :)

Favourite tradition minialbum

Hello! Riikka here to share my take on this month's challenge! The topic this month is "favourite things" and I wanted to scrapbook a tradition, which is really meaningful to me. One of my favourite things.

Every year on May 1st we visit the local zoo. The tradition started way back, when my husband and I were dating and we didn't realise it even at first. It was only I was going through some photo albums at my computer when I realised we had been to the zoo three years a row on the May 1st. After that we have celebrated the May day with a visit to the zoo.

The album documents the trip of this year. I took a lot of photos, like usual, and then edited just a few of them for this album. To keep the album clean and unified, I used black and white photos. I tried to document the day as well as some of my favourite things at the zoo. For example I love how our daughters always pet the wooden animals on the way to the main gate and I adore the tropical houses that have some beautiful plants, little monkeys and cute frogs. It was also charming that the best show on the zoo was put on a lady cleaning one of the cages. Our girls were mesmerised by her and stood in front of that window longer than any other! You can see all the pages of the mini at the bottom of this post.

The papers are from this month's sponsor, Donna Salazar. To have my own touch to them, I added some gesso, mists, doodling and stamping here and there. I bound the book using washi tape, taping two papers together and then created the spine using a piece of paper. The embellishments are partly form my Zeus and Zoe kit and partly from my own stash.

I hope you'll join in to the challenge this month! It would be wonderful to discover some of your favourite things!

I Love Thee - Layout - May Challenge

Hi Everyone,  the new Zeus and Zoe challenge for May is inspired by a beautiful mood board that Riikka has created.  You can find all details in an earlier post, by clicking 'HERE'.

My inspiration this month comes from the contents of the mood board, and I had a lot of fun in combining my Zeus and Zoe kit contents, with the sponsor items.

Our sponsors this month are Couture Creations, and May Arts.  It was fabulous using such beautiful products - the beautiful lace die above and below on my layout is from Couture Creations.  I also used lace which I dyed with Shadow Mists, and leaves from  May Arts. The leaves I actually painted, and then inked to get that earthy appearance which teamed nicely with the colour hues already used.
There is a fabulous prize this month, consisting of 20 yards of  May Arts ribbons, lace, trims.
and.....a random prize (below) of a gorgeous die, and embossing folder pack from Couture Creations

The photograph I scrapped for this layout is of my Mum, with my Grandfather, and my Aunts Helen, Janet and Diane.  I am unsure who the blonde lady is and must ask my Mum!
I loved the words below and thought it would be nice to incorporate as a tile.
The old doily, key, papers, ornate yellow jewel piece and flowers are from my Zeus and Zoe kit - Marivic puts together the most amazing kits, and even custom makes them for her customers.  You can find the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop 'HERE'.
I will be back later in the month with another creation to show....

May Challenge: A mood board

Great start to May! Riikka here to present the May challenge. Here in Finland May really marks the start of sunny weather and warmer days. The nearing summer effects the spirit and the ever increasing amount of light turns people happy and light. May Day is celebrated with balloons and streamers and with a picnic amongst the family.

The challenge this month is to be inspired by the mood board I created. I tried to capture the light, happy feeling of May together with some beautiful products from my Zeus and Zoe kit. You can use the mood board anyway you like - you can take the colors to your creation or just be inspired a single detail, like delicate trims in the board. Let your mind wonder and create something spectacular!

If you wish to see the pictures in the board bigger, please visit this Pinterest board (link). Photos that aren't there are taken by me. And by the way, have you found this board yet (link)? It contains sample projects and ideas for monthly blog challenge - talk about inspiration!

Our sponsor this month is May Arts - a fabulous ribbon company with huge array of different products. "May Arts is a ribbon wholesaler, based in Riverside, Connecticut, serving over 16,000 customers worldwide. Here's my take on the challenge. I've included the textures from the mood board together with the touches of pink, the light color scheme and some beautiful trims. I was also inspired by the "Do not fear the future" frase and wanted to create something connected with it.

I tried to capture the light feel of May and spring to this layout. I wanted a lot of texture to the background but wanted to keep it light at the same time, so this paper by Prima Marketing was just perfect. There's a lot of going on there, but the over all appearance of the paper is still light. I added my own touch to the page with stamping, doodling and splashing acrylic paint and mist. I used grid stamp in an angle to reseble the diamond type pattern in one of the pictures in the mood board.

Although I mostly scrap pictures of my children anyway, for this future related page they seemed to work perfectly. Children are the future, after all. I chose to go with this picture of my first born, taken on her 4th birthday.

Almost all of the supplies are from my Zeus and Zoe kit. The butterflies and the large flowers are cut from patterned papers in my kit. The delicate trims and  lace are from my kit, too, as well as the old book page. The pearls are  taken from a jewellery piece and scattered around the page. The little nest embellishment is selfmade and there's a tutorial for it in my blog. I felt it fitted perfectly to this spring-like layout and to the mood board, too. Behind the nest there's two feathers, inspired by the wings in the mood board.

I hope I have inspired you and showed you a few ways to include the inspiration from the mood board to your creation. I'm really looking forward to see what you have created! Please, join in!

Hello & Thanks so much for joining me today for an extra special layout!  Why is it extra special you ask, well because it's about me (heheheehe).  This month we have a REALLY fun challenge for you to play along with!!  We are challenging you to create a project with you front and center.  That's right, the theme is "Life As It Is Now" (for you).  So I hope you're up for the challenge because I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better.  The only requirement you have is to mix some buttons into your design, easy peasy right!

Ah...but wait, there's more!!!!

AND

A random participant will also be chosen to win these beautiful ribbons from May Arts:

Okay so I know what your thinking, where is this extra special layout right?!  LOL, ready.........here it is!!

Tada!!  As you can tell, I'm having so much fun with this month's challenge (see you should join so you can have fun too, lol).  I rarely scrap about myself or even take pics of myself for that matter.  I always joke that my family is gonna look back and think I was never there.  That's the big problem with being the family paparazzo, right!  Well, for this layout I turned the camera over to my youngest son and had a mini photo shoot.  Luckily I found one that would work out of the gazillon he took, lol.

I knew I wanted my focus to be on turning 40 because I reached my milestone birthday yesterday.  So that's the inspiration for my title and I wanted the layout to reflect my very favorite design elements and colors.  So with that in mind, I began working on my design.

My background paper is called Cupids Arrow from Kaisercraft's Sweet Nothings Collection and I added texture with molding paste and a Crafters Workshop chicken wire stencil.  Next I added in my very favorite blue soft body acrylic and magenta gouache paints.

To create layers, I added painted chipboard, an ink stained/doodled/stamped banner and some roses fussy cut from the Manor House flower packaging.

When I saw the beautiful Banana Boat paper by The ScrapCake in my kit, I immediately thought the grouping of circles looked like clouds.  So I fussy cut them out and added a couple here and there.  I feel like my head is always lost in the clouds day dreaming so I wanted to add them to symbolize the dreamer in me.

I tucked in some hidden journaling for my family using the ScrapFX tags from my Zeus and Zoe kit.  I colored them with various Dylusions inks and doodled around the edges.

To bring my design to life, I mixed beautiful vibrant flowers by Manor House, Prima, Recollections and my stash.  Since part of the challenge is to incorporate buttons, I added some of the gorgeous buttons from my kit to the big beautiful Manor Hour flower and then tucked in here and there.

I mixed in a couple of crocheted dollies, beautiful charms and stick pins from Zeus and Zoe kit.  I also created flourishes and loops with some jute twine and added a Prima light bulb from the Junkyard Findings line.

Here's a closer look at some of the layering, stenciling and paint.

Well friends, I hope I've inspired you play along with us.  This really is a great opportunity to have a little fun and express yourself through the colors of your soul.  So I encourage you to turn the camera over to someone else, take some pics and start creating!!  If you'd like some of the gorgeous items I used from Zeus and Zoe, just visit the online store.   Marivic can also put together a custom kit just for you, all you have to do is let her know what you're looking for or what your creative style is and she'll work her magic.

Thanks again for stopping by and Have a Beautiful Inspired Day!!
