Believe In Your Dreams

Bonjour everyone! I am so excited to share with you my first project(s)  for the Zeus and Zoe design team.

As soon as I received my kit filled with beautiful papers, flowers, vintage lace, trims and awesome embellishments, I was inspired to begin creating!k

For a quick vintage-feel project, I used an empty Pringles chip can, a beautiful sheet of designer paper from the GCD Authentic stack, some pretty flowers, pearl trim and velvet ribbon from the Zeus and Zoe online shop.
After die-cutting a decorative oval shape I added a vintage image and lovely flowers to tie into the "Tea Time" theme, but the crowning piece, I think, is the lovely decorated cap with its huge pink gardenia from Zeus and Zoe's, A doily die-cut, cherry blossoms and other tiny blooms and embellishments, including a teapot stick pin.

The inside of the cap is simply decorated with a crocheted doily and tiny acrylic dot. The matching tag is bordered with a couple of different lace trims, bright crocheted flower and tiny mulberry roses and flower stem.

For my second project, I recycled a box that I thought would make a great little shadow box. I lined the inside of the box and back side of the box with paper from the Prima Princess collection, added some tiny rosette trim to the inside ends of the box, and just behind the clear plastic front I added a shimmery piece of tulle.

Next I used some Lindy's Flat Fabio in Raspberry Lemonade and Glam Pink Stickles to cover the chipboard word 'Believe'. I added some beautiful velvet ribbon and pink beaded trim and tiny flowers from my DT package which I added to the outside of the shadow box. A gorgeous flowery vine textured with SnoTex also wraps around the left side of the box to the top on the outside.

To the inside of the box I added a decorative doily topped with an inked wood veneer piece topped with a chipboard piece, a chandelier drop charm. Pearl and iridescent acrylic medallion stems hang down in each top corners of the box and a glittered ballerina sits in a bed of Spanish moss that lines the bottom, giving the piece an ethereal, dreamy feel.

I hope you enjoy my projects, they were so much fun to make!

New beginning by Tusia Lech

Hello :)

Today is my first day at Zeus&Zoe blog as a designer and I have to say how happy and thrilled I am! Marivic, who is the owner of Zeus&Zoe etsy store, creates amazing kits for shabby and vintage lovers! There are so many inspiring and unique elements in each kit!! When I unpacked mine, I couldn't resist to start creating immediately! Thank you Marivic for inviting me to the team!

My first layout as a Zeus&Zoe DT member is about new beginning. Literally and figuratively. I just have started my new, great adventure here but there are many new beginnings around us all year. Days, months, seasons, strawberry season, school, job, love, friendship - everything begins. And I wanted to honour all happy beginnings in my life.

Almost everything, you see below, come from Zeus&Zoe kit handpicked by Marivic. I have added some shabby touch to a canvas star and a few buttons, applying some gesso on it.

Take a look at this beautiful, handmade flower, which was a part of Zeus&Zoe Kit Collection!

The whole composition is around the circle, which I draw in the central part of 7 Dots Studio paper. I used pencil, Gelatos and Caran D'Ache Neocolor crayons, which you can buy at Zeus&Zoe store. These are absolutely wonderful crayons, soft and easy to be applied and totally water-soluble. But if you prefer not to use water, they are also wonderful - give great coverage, vivid colors and wonderful texture.

Most elements was put on a foam squares, so to add the dimension. Final touch was adding some splatters with black Indian Ink and some stamping.

All flowers, except crocheted one, come from Manor House Value Pack available at Zeus&Zoe store.

Thank you for visiting our blog today!

This is happiness - by Zanka

Hello friends!
I'm so happy to be sharing my first project created with Zeus and Zoe kit! I can tell you , this stuff is addicting and as I've adhered the last piece on this one, I already started to think what to do next!

My kit contained among others  an old magazine, which kick started my creative process. I created the background on a light cardstock, using pieces of the old paper, gesso, stencils and watercolours to make this mixed media background.
Just wanted to show, that you can create light, colourful, shabby chic projects with the vintage kit!

I had a grand time designing this background and I think next time I might expand this idea and cover the whole page. I still have some beautiful old prints left in my kit!

Most of the embellishments I used are coming from Zeus and Zoe store. Check it out!
From my stash I picked: chipboard, pink flower (the dark one), gesso and watercolours.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

Best Things Canvas by Dana Tatar

Hi Zeus and Zoe fans! Dana here today sharing a 6x6 canvas that I created with supplies from my Zeus and Zoe Kit. I started with a gorgeous vintage calendar page and went from there. I'm trying to hold on the the last days of Summer and this beautiful image caught my eye.

I primed my burlap canvas and then used acrylic paint to color the background. I covered the paint with a layer of crackle glaze and pearl pen accents.

I sealed the image to my canvas with Mod Podge and added some crocheted flowers from my Zeus and Zoe Kit for a bold pop of orange.

I cut this sentiment from a tag, aged it with Distress Ink and then covered it with a layer of glaze for more dimension. I finished the canvas by wrapping floral trim around the edge.

Thanks for stopping by today! You can pick up a similar kit from the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop. Don't forget to enter our August Giveaway. You can find all the details HERE.

Hello everyone! I would like to welcome you to our newly decorated blog and I'm also here to introduce myself and welcome our new designers as they begin their little adventure with me starting this month.
I am starting it off with a tutorial and a little giveaway. This post is photo heavy so please be patient.

About me...

My name is Marivic, for those of you who don’t know me,  I'm the creator of Zeus and Zoe Blog and Etsy shop. I live in Houston with my husband and 2 children and (sometimes) my oldest son when he's on leave with the US Navy. My education background is in business administration and Nursing.

I’ve been crafter at heart since I can remember. I love everything that is pretty and vintage. I love collecting papers and fabrics. I’ve collected all sorts of ephemera, vintage images, antique linens, vintage buttons, tins, brooches, and costume jewelries. And I love creating and sewing stuff for my children and friends.

I manage 2 blogs with 2 separate Design Teams. We host monthly challenges with different themes every month.

Now, I will share with you how I made a headband with handmade flowers the easy and the easier way. Great to use as photo prop for you or your little girl.

This has flower has so many versions on the internet and I'm sure you've seen this tutorial in the past, it is nothing new.

So, let's revive it!

Start with chiffon and tulle fabrics. Depending on how big you want it, I used a little less than 1/2 yard of chiffon and some tulle. I have a circle template, I googled a 4 inch circle, printed on card stock  and worked from there.

Fold in half. Use pins as needed. Fold about 3/4 through or in half, whichever you prefer.

For each layer of flowers, I used 4 fabrics. Stitch with matching thread.
You can add as many as you want.

Do the same thing with the tulle. Alternate between chiffon and tulle doing the same technique. I added more tulle for more pouffiness! Once you achieve the size you want, add a center to it. Use vintage buttons, brooch, beads, etc.

Gather all your supplies to make a headband...This trim is from Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop.

I used a small felt circle for the backing.  I added a pin closure backing to it.

Measure the head of who the headband is for and use small elastic for the back/bottom part of the trim. I used my sewing machine to sew the elastic to the trim. I pinned the flower to the trim. This way I can change the flower anytime I want. You can hand stitch the flower to the trim if you would like. Or use pin backing in case you also want to use the flower as a brooch. Detach when you want to attach it somewhere else.

This one I used as a brooch on my photo above. This is a 7 inch flower.

Here it is as a headband.

Obviously the easiest way is to just buy ready made flowers and design according to your taste. Like I did here...

And here......with paper flowers...attach as many as you want. This one, I used hot glue to attach the flowers.

                                                      Flowers can be bought HERE

And now for the giveaway, our Charlie made a mood board for the DT this month.

Since I wasn't able to do the theme, we've decided to give away a kit! Just share this "PRIZE" photo with a link to our website, twitter, or Facebook. Add your blog post or FB post that you shared the prize on the blog's sidebar using linky tool and you will be eligible to win! That easy! We will draw a name at the end of the month and this kit is all yours! Free!!

Thank you for stopping by! We hope to see you again, we have lots of projects and tutorials to share with you.
