Dana's "green with envy" kit from Zeus and Zoe...

Dana is sharing with us today how she used this pretty green kit she purchased from Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop...

Thanks for sharing Dana!!

Hi Zeus and Zoe fans! Former design team member Dana here today sharing a fun piece that I created with the Zeus and Zoe Green with Envy Embellishment Kit. You can find similar kits HERE. I only used about half of my kit on this piece! The items I used from the kit include the green doilies, green fabric tape, white flowers, vintage buttons, green ribbon, stick pins, vintage ephemera, handmade fabric flower, vintage postcard, small glass bottle and green mist. I LOVE the handmade fabric flower and the gold accents from the vintage buttons! Its one-of-a-kind items like this that I like to add to make my projects extra special.

Here is a peek of the gorgeous Green with Envy Kit! If you're looking for something specific, or have a favorite color that your like to work with, contact Marivic and she'll put together a kit personalized to your specific tastes and needs!

I used the Fairy Magic Clear Stamp Set from Paper Wings Productions along with some Distress Markers for the fairy shown here. I stamped the fairy onto a piece of clear packing with StazOn ink and cut out a second set of wings to layer over my colored image. I used the NEW Paper Wings Productions Flower of Life Clear Stamp with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink to add the pattern to the kraft envelope under the fairy. I added layers of vintage book pages and post cards from my Zeus and Zoe Kit under the envelope.

I filled the small glass bottle from the kit with Fine Antique Silver Vintage Glass Glitter. I thought this looked a bit like pixie dust!

I framed the corners of my piece with chipboard that I colored with Gelatos. I used the With Wings Cling Stamp Set, from the last Paper Wings Productions release, for the text. I added clusters of stars as a finishing touch using the Paper Wings Productions Hanging Stars Clear Stamp Set.

I had a ton of fun putting this piece together! If you would like to pick up one or more of the stamp sets I used on this piece, or any of the other fantastic designs offered by Paper Wings Productions, you can use Coupon Code PWP*FAN2 to save 25% off your total purchase before shipping! Upcylced: Altered Sunglasses Zeus & Zoe Style!

Hola! Craft Buddies

This month we had a theme of Vintage Romance, and on our mood board there were tons of frilly lace. So I decided to upcycle a pair of sunglasses with a vintage romance twist. When I think vintage my mind automatically thinks cremes and beige's as well as pearls. So I used a frilly beige trim paired with some pearls and put it along the top perimeter of the sunglasses.To add a bit of romance I used small touches of peach, by adding my DIY rolled lace  flowers on each side. To finish it off I added an old chain and pearl  necklace with an Art~I~Cake charm attached giving it  some of that 'Madame Ro edge'. Check it out!

 I had a blast upcycling this project. I hope you will give this a try, its super easy and super simple.

Check out my Youtube video for the tutorial. Thanks for sharing your time with  me.

Shabby Chic Altered Dresser

 Good Morning crafting friends...Patricia Basson with you again...

This month we have a most gorgeous Inspiration Board at Zeus and Zoe filled with beautiful soft and elegant images! In keeping with the Shabby Chic colours of pink and cream, I took a toy dresser and transformed it into a elegant dresser ready to brighten up a Victorian Dolls House...

The frame is made from a Chipboard frame and some mirrored foil.

I sacrificed one of my large Dollies from my DT stash, cut it up and used various pieces on the dresser and still have much left for future projects.

The Vintage Locket, Button and Fish ornament are also from my DT Stash. All is available from the Zeus and Zoe Etsy shop.I also used one of the stick pins, thinking it looks like a vintage perfume bottle nestled between the flowers!
~~~
This is what the wooden dresser looked like before.
I painted a base coat of pink acrylic paint and when dried painted a crackle medium over it. After dying overnight it was painted with the cream paint. The crackle medium resulted it the cracks of the cream paint revealing the pink under coat!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my post...I hope I have inspired you to try your hand at the Inspiration Board as well...
Welcome to our September GD..Emmy van de Heuvel
My name is Emilia van den Heuvel and I’m a Bulgarian girl, living and working out of the Netherlands. I grew up in the beautiful capital of Bulgaria – Sofia and being a city girl is kind of in my blood. My mom filled our house with books and painting and art journals and she thought me to love all things crafty and artsy.
Before I moved to the Netherlands to be with my husband, I was working as a vet and now I’m a part-time translator, a full-time mommy to my amazing munchkins – Theo and Elise and a passionate crafter. In my spare time you will find me behind my crafty table, reading a book or visiting the next magical place with my family.
I started scrapbooking in 2004 after my first child was born. I think it is the perfect way of preserving our memories. Every single one of my pages is telling a story, which will always remind my children who they are and who we were as a family.
If you wish to see more of my creations, please visit my blog: http://few-favourite-things.blogspot.nl/
Here is Emilia's project for Zeus and Zoe
I started with a while cardstock, a masking template and a doily stamp. To mask the large doily on my background I used Panpastels. Then I stamped the smaller doily with Jenni Bowlin "Lemon Drops" Acrilic Pain Dabber {incl. in my kit}.
After it was dry, I drew the frame around it and spattered a bit of Glimmer Mist to create the artsy effect.
After it was dry, I drew the frame around it and spattered a bit of Glimmer Mist to create the artsy effect.
Then I begun arranging my papers. I layered the picture on a few layers of pattern paper and distressed their edges.
I colored the large white ribbon from my kit with the yellow paint dabber and added it under the picture. My main goal was to create a layout to display the wonderful hand made tag, by using matching embellishments and similar colors {all combined in a beautiful kit from Marivic}.
I cut out the small fabric flowers from piece of ribbon and added a pearl in the middle.
To finish off my page I used washi tape and a lot of pearls and die-cut swirls.
First I covered my base with Jenni Bowlin "Lemon Drops" Acrilic Pain Dabber. Then, using the Spellbinders Gold Labels die I cut three layers of patter paper. I adhered the first two layers with 3d tape to the card base and I cut out the middle part of the smallest one to achieve a window-like effect. Then I adhered the lovely embroidery from my kit and cut out the excessive part.
I added flowers, chippies and glitter glue to finish off my design.
THANK YOU EMMY! WE LOVE YOUR WORK!!
Altered Eiffel Tower
Hi everyone, or should I say Bonjour :-).  Jen here, hope everyone is having a good month so far. Thanks for joining me today for my mid month project. I have loved our theme this month so far, using pretty pastel colours. I decided to do something a bit different for this project and altered an Eiffel Tower that I picked up from a local shop.
When I bought the Eiffel Tower is was a black metal, I knew I wanted to shabby it up a bit so this theme was perfect.
I gave to Tower a couple of coats of Gesso to prime it. This stage took me a few days. I then used some pastel pink acrylic paint to give it the effect that I wanted. I used a round cake tray as the base, glued on some Kaisercaft paper. I used doily and brick stencils to add some texture to the base. These were both from Crafters Workshop.
I added one of Marivic's stunning tags to the second level of the tower, it fit my Parisian theme perfectly. The pink doily and the metal flower from my DT kit were perfect additions. The flower was originally red, I gave it a coat of Gesso and some pink paint.
The metal locket embellishment was also in my DT kit and available in the Etsy store.
The trees and vintage Parisian ladies were downloaded from the internet and glued on to the base. I used cocktail sticks to give them some extra stability. The beautiful lilac trim is also available in the Etsy store.
Another close up of Marivic's tag. I love these handmade tags. The photo underneath shows the 3D dimension added to it.
.
Thanks for joining me this month and taking the time to look at my Eiffel Tower and Parisian street scene.
Until next month.
Asian Inspired Ukulele
Hello Everyone!
Hope you all have been enjoying all of the crafty inspiration on the Zeus & Zoe blog thus far. Its such an honor to be a part of a team of creative designers.  I have been busting at the seams to finally share this project with you all.  But before I share my project I want to preface by saying that my favorite thing to do is alter things. I love taking an item and turning it into something totally different, and not for its intended use.  My second favorite thing is the Asian culture. I'm obsessed with it. I love everything about it. So I decided to marry my two loves together and create something unique. so now let me share with you what I created.
Don't forget to check out my YouTube video and thanks for spending time with me..
