January "Word" Challenge.

Hi, Gayle here again to share with you my second page for our January "WORD" Challenge. My word for 2013 is FOCUS, and this page represents the "chaos and confusion" that can sometimes infiltrate our lives and cause us to be distracted, feel a little lost and unsure of our goals and can make "focussing" a real challenge.

Again, the page is made up entirely from the eclectic assortment of ephemera in my Zeus and Zoe kit. You can find similar in Marivics wonderful Etsy Store.

January Challenge......"Focus"

Hi everyone. Gayle here to share my first page for 2013 with you; made pretty much entirely from all the gorgeous vintage "trinkets" from my Zeus and Zoe kit supplied by Marivic from her Etsy Store.

Our January Challenge is of course based on a word.....a word for 2013. We'd love you to play along with us, and all the details to do so are HERE, as well as a peek at the amazing prize you could win from Maja Design.

My chosen word is "FOCUS". For a few members of my family this is a  year where it's going to be very important to set goals, focus on only them and ways to achieve them and not be distracted. For myself, personally, I'm focussing on my family, my health, and my art "my way".

I hope every one has had a great start to this year and whatever your plans, goals and ideas are for 2013, good luck and may they all be fulfilled.

Design Team Call for Zeus and Zoe

Zeus and Zoe Blog and Etsy shop is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and friendly new DT members. We’re looking for Mixed Media artists, scrapbookers, card makers, or any crafters that would like to play with one-of-a-kind vintage items.

As a DT member you will be required to do 2 monthly projects. This term will start in March 2013 and will end in July 2013. You will be assigned certain days of the week every month in which you will post your completed projects on our blog. During your term, you are required to do 1 tutorial and host 1 monthly challenge.

You must have a blog and you must have good photography skills. You will also help us promote Zeus and Zoe blog and Etsy shop any way you can, as long as it is allowed, either on Facebook or scrapbook galleries.

As a compensation, you will receive kits from me containing vintage items worth a few hundred dollars. You will also receive 30% off discount on my etsy shops or any custom kits.

To be considered for this team. Send me at least 4 photos of your best projects, DT commitments past and present. Tell me something about yourself and why you would want to be considered for our design team. This call is open to anyone, international applicants are encouraged to apply.

Embrace winter LO

Hi everyone! Sandi here. Today I'd like to share a lo that I did using my fabulous Zeus and Zoe custom kit. This lo is all about embracing the winter....yes, that includes the wind, the cold, and the sparkling snow that falls! Yes, it's that snow that I love and hate at the same time....love the look, the clean fresh scent, the entire beauty that it makes, but oh do I absolutely hate shoveling the stuff!!!! Lol!!!!!!!!

See that fabulous background pp. That's from the kit....love it! So perfect for this lo. The red snowflake strip of pp is another one that was in my kit. Also from the kit are the small pieces of pp, parts from a vintage pattern sewing directions paper, and vintage cloth that's behind the pic. Love these kits and right now, Marivic will make up a custom kit for you....how cool is that! Yes, you can even add to it from the wonderful goodies in our Z&Z Etsy shop!

January Scrap a word challenge lo!

Hi everyone! Sandi here. Today I'd like to share a lo that I did for our January "Scrap a word" challenge. Wow! What a fun challenge that our DT member Romy came up with. Yes, simply make a project using a word for your 2013 New year. What a great, super easy challenge!

 

 

For my lo, I used the paper in my Z&Z kit along with a vintage pattern cover, a feather, and the flourish Scrap FX chipboard. Yes, these kits have a lot more then that, and right now, you can get a custom kit by contacting Marivic!

December challenge winners!

Yippee! We have our winners drawn for our December Bright and Sparkle challenge! Honestly, this was so hard because there were just so many beautiful entries! Thank you so much for everyone that played along with our challenge....we were so amazed!

January challenge: your word for 2013

First of all, I would like to wish you a very happy and healthy 2013! I hope it will be a beautiful year for you.

It's the first day of January, which means that it's also time for a new challenge:

I thought it would be a nice idea to make a New Year's challenge: scrap about your word for 2013. At the beginning of a new year, I always pick a word that I want to live by for that year. For example I have chosen the word 'explore' for 2013, as I want to spend more time exploring the world, exploring chances and exploring myself. My challenge for you is to choose your own word that you want to live by in 2013 and to scrap about this word. This can be in whatever way you want: you can make an art journal, a lay-out, a card, an altered item. Whatever you like to record the word that you want to live by.

This is my example for the challenge. On my lay-out I journaled about my word for 2013, which is 'explore'. I have used several items from my vintage kit from the Zeus & Zoe Etsy store on my lay-out. 

In this embellishment cluster I have used a gorgeous Webster's Pages flower and a beautiful vintage button that were part of my Zeus & Zoe kit. Also do you see the beautiful gold lacing below my photo? That was part of my Zeus & Zoe kit too. 

You can find more gorgeous embellishments like these in the Zeus & Zoe Etsy store, where you can also put together your own vintage kit.

Information about our challenges:
1. Zeus and Zoe Challenges are open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
2. Our DT do their best to comment on all entries, you can make their job easier by turning off your word verification.
3. Challenges are held monthly and each month TWO winners are chosen. One winner is chosen by our DT and the other is chosen by random draw.
4. Challenge winners will always be announced within a week of the challenge closing and winners are then required to contact Marivic.
5. Prizes not claimed within two weeks will be forfeited.
6. The Merit winner will have an image of their project featured in the winners post, together with a link back to the homepage of their blog.
7. Winners will be awarded a Winner's Badge to post on their blog...full bragging rights included!
