I am back again to share with you an altered box I made from one of my wonderful Zeus and Zoe kits. Now I am not usually a pink kind of girl, however this kit jumped right out at me and it was love at first sight. The kit was full of wonderful and GORGEOUS items. I adore the antique brooch and the stunning Berry71Bleu ballerina tag. This box has been put together nearly entirely out of Zeus and Zoe items, all I added myself were the Tim Holtz box feet and corners.

Another Inspiration for our Mixed Media Challenge..

Hi this is Marivic..

This is something I made for one of my clients and I thought it fits perfectly well with Mitra's challenge this month...Mixed Media.

This is my first try at making Canvas Art..So here it goes..

All items I used in this canvas is from Zeus and Zoe custom kit...Old papers as background..Chicken wire stencil which I gessoed and misted.

The woman's image is from my 2012 calendar. Well, I had to cut my calendar to use it. Good thing 2012 calendars are now 75% off..I got another one!

project as long as you follow the challenge specifications.

2. Projects must be linked up to our linky tool in the 

sidebar, using the URL of the ACTUAL POST not your 

entire blog.

3. You may submit as many entries as you want

and combine your entry with up to 2 other challenges.

4. It is required that you mention in your blog post that you 
are playing along at Zeus & Zoe TOGETHER with a link 
back to our blog. 

5. All entries must be received by MIDNIGHT EST on the

15th day of the month the challenge was posted.

6. Entries to be submitted via the linky tool at the top of the

sidebar ONLY, not by e mail and not by linking up in the 

comments section please.

Information about our Challenges:

1. Zeus & Zoe Challenges are open to anyone, 

anywhere in the world.

2. Our Design Team do their best to comment 

on all entries, you can make their job easier by turning OFF 

your word verification.  Try it and if spam is a problem 

you can always enable comment moderation.

3. Challenges are held monthly and each month TWO winners are

chosen.  One winner is chosen by our design team, who all vote 

for 

the project they consider to be the best, while another 

winner is 

chosen by random draw.

5. Prizes not claimed within 2 weeks of the challenge closing 

will be forfeited.

Hello there once again,

It was wonderful to see so many friends during our recent Blog Hop. It was a blast and so Thank You everyone for the fun!

This is the altered box that I did for the hop. For those of you that have missed it, this was the project I shared, once again featuring the beautiful trinkets and embellishments from Zeus & Zoe Kits.

This is an altered box (a recycled cake box), now a treasure box ;) Love the butterfly !!!

Zeus & Zoe Monthly Vintage Image Challenge: Mixed Media

Greetings!

I am posting this from the sleepy town of Potsdam NY. We are considered "Upstate" which means I live in the middle of nowhere yet upstate from New York City!

Anyhow, I love my little town and when Marivic (proud owner of the Zeus & Zoe) asked me to post our first ever challenge, I thought I'd like to share this vintage image with you.

It appears to be a graphic from an Art Studio located long ago here in Potsdam, NY.

I thought it would help me set up a challenge that would be fun.

Our challenge for June 15th:  Create a project that includes Mixed Media. You can drag out your mists, glitter, paint, fabric, markers, inks and anything else to create something amazing. Please gather inspiration from this image when you are creating your project. You don't have to USE the image, but certainly can if that tickles your artistic spirit.

The Zeus & Zoe kits are designed to have many vintage elements and lovely new papers to inspire you. You don't have to use a kit from Zeus & Zoe to play along. Although it might help you to be inspired!

Here is another photo so you can see what it looks like when I slide the little flip book out of the clear holder. That shimmery heart shaped doily came in my kit and I used the vintage glitter to make it shimmer.

This is also a good shot of that lovely knitted flower below.

That flower was designed by Irini who makes Get Creative Embellishments and she has graciously offered us two of her flower packages to offer as a prize!

Lilac Treasure Box from A Zeus and Zoe Kit

Hey there out there in blog land!

I just wanted to pop over to the Z & Z blog and wish you happy a June!

I wish I had a before photo of this box. It came along with a kit that Marivic sent me in a Zeus and Zoe kit.

That lovely vintage postcard also came along and made me smile!

I love lilacs and an early warm spring with a cold snap made my lilac bush decide not to bloom!

So, it was like Marivic was reading my mind by adding that postcard to my kit!

Have I mentioned she sends happiness in the mail? ;-)

She also sent along some cream colored vintage muslin material which I thought would add a really cool texture to the top of my box.

It was pretty straight forward, I just used modge podge to glue it down and a Tim Holtz Dusty Concord Distress stain gave me me the purple color. Cutting it to fit only took a few minutes.

Here is a more angled view of this box. I should add that everything here with the exception of the feet, wooden molding, and the pink metal flourish are all from the kit.

The doilies, flower, metal leaf, flower and pink medallion were all included WITH the box I used.

Let me show you the inside which I did not alter.
























I am so happy with this box!
